UAE Announces An Important Golden Visa Update

The United Arab Emirates has announced a critical Golden Visa update for current and prospective visa holders. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced several new benefits that will mark the beginning of a new chapter for visa holders already leveraging the incredible advantages of the Golden Visa. 

The Golden Visa is a special residential permit that allows long-term stays in the UAE and eliminates the uncertainties associated with short-term visas. According to the latest announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), several unpecendted benefits have been named under the scope of the Golden Visa, which were previously only limited to Emirati Nationals. This massive development further enhances the unique value a Golden Visa offers in the UAE. 

Details of the New Golden Visa Update

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that golden visa holders already eligible for a 10-year stay in the country can now access consular services on their foreign trips. This particular service has been limited only to Emirati nationals, but it will now equally benefit golden visa holders in the UAE.

The MOFA announced this major initiative at GITEX Global 2025 in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security. GITEX is the largest technology event in the Gulf region, empowering innovators, entrepreneurs, and business investors. Similarly, the new initiative by the UAE government aims to empower Golden Visa holders and adds to the already wide range of benefits available. 

The overseas consular access for visa holders is an unprecedented initiative that will increase the attraction for foreign investors and talented individuals to apply for the Golden Visa. The initiative aligns with the UAE’s ongoing “Year of Community” under the theme “Hand in Hand.”

Key Information About the New Changes for Golden Visa Holders

Golden Visa holders will benefit from several new facilities to make their overseas stay peaceful and stress-free. In the event of losing or damaging their passports, the visa holders will receive a document that will allow them to return to the UAE with the Foreign Ministry’s support. The electronic return document will be quickly generated for the visa holders and will be valid for seven days. A hotline has also been established for 24/7 assistance, allowing Golden Visa holders peace of mind when travelling abroad. 

The UAE government will also provide emergency evacuation support to long-term residents in the event of a natural disaster in a foreign country. In such a situation, the UAE government will facilitate the UAE golden visa holders stuck outside with the help of their respective missions abroad. 

The government will also provide repatriation and burial services in the event of a sudden death abroad. The dedicated service will also involve swift transactions and quick processing to deliver timely service.
